Disinfecting & Cleaning

In addition to instrument cleaning and sterilization, the room used during a dental procedure must also be cleaned and disinfected after each use. Another important method of disinfection and cleaning is to take contaminated lab jackets or coats out of a dental office — and NOT to your own home. A laundering company or a designated washer/dryer for your dental practice must be used. You can take your scrubs home to clean, but if they are contaminated, be sure to NEVER wear them outside of the office.

A great idea would be to have a change of clothes ready in your car at all times because you never know what’s going to happen on a day of work — it’s best to be prepared no matter what is thrown your way.
